Cycle Training
Hi, I am Alex and I am a qualified Cycle Trainer and Play Together on Pedals Instructor. I trained with Cycling Scotland and in my spare time I am also a Volunteer Ride Leader for the Border Belles on Bikes women’s cycling group.
- Bikeability Intructor trained up to Level 3 in schools
- Teaches ‘Learn then Ride’ sessions with Cycling UK
- Can provide 1:1 Adult Cycling Training to build confidence on roads and plan routes to work or for leisure cycling utilising the cycle path network.
I can offer cycle training in Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders.
I don’t operate a booking system for cycle training so please fill out the contact form with your preferred dates and the number of people in your group. I charge an hourly rate which is payable through PayPal.
Guided Cycle Routes
I lived in Edinburgh for 25 years and in that time I have explored many areas of the city on my bicycle and have built up a good knowledge of lots of interesting routes. I have listed my top 4 favourite routes below and for a small fee I would be pleased to guide you around these routes. Or any other routes you would be interested in.
I am not a tour guide or a historian but I can give you some local information on the best tourist sites to visit and recommend places for eating out to make the most of your stay in Edinburgh.
I moved to Hawick a few years ago and can also offer guided routes in the Scottish Borders.
Scottish Borders Council has produced a great range of cycling routes for the main towns in the Scottish Border. I have cycled many of these routes myself and would be very happy to guide you around these routes if you aren’t confident cycling on your own. For the rides I lead in the Scottish Borders I use an electric bike as it is very hilly! If you would like to hire an electric bike for the ride I can recommend some bike shops and local businesses which hire electric bikes. The bike hire shops and businesses will usually deliver and collect the electric bikes from your accommodation if you are on holiday.

*Please note my routes are only suitable for those 14 years old and above. These routes are only available to those who have their own bikes or have hired a bike. I can provide recommendations of bike hire shops in Edinburgh.
