Distance: 5.92 miles/9.52 km. All routes start/finish at Middle Meadow Walk junction.
Duration: Approx 1-2 hours at a gentle pace.
Terrain: A mixture of shared use tarmac cycle paths, cobbles and busier roads. Suitable for road bikes and hybrids bikes. Mostly flat but with one undulating hill on the road around Arthur’s Seat. The views from the top make the climb worth it!
Description: An historical route that explores the main tourist sites in Edinburgh by bike in the Old Town and takes you around an extinct volcano that is 3 billion years old – Arthur’s Seat! Refreshments can be found in the café at Holyrood Palace which has very nice scones.
